Virat Kohli becomes top T20 batsman, proves latest ICC ranking
After Virat Kohli's excellent performance aided India's victory against Australia (3-0) in a three-match T20 series, the star batsman has reached the top spot in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) latest T20 batsmen ranking.
The newly released rankings also verified India's spot to No.1 in the world. Currently, Australia have plummeted to eighth position following the 3-0 series defeat.

Kohli scored 90 not out, 59 not out and 50 in the series to acquire 47 ratings points and replaced Australia's Aaron Finch. Contrarily, Finch gained 14 points with scores of 44 and 74 in Adelaide and Melbourne.

Besides, India's Suresh Raina moved up three places to 13th after his wonderful series. Opener Rohit Sharma moved up four places to be placed at 16th position in the list.

Sadly, David Warner dropped six spots to 18th. He scored 17 in the opening match before heading to New Zealand for the one-day international series against the Black Caps.

West Indies spinner Sunil Narine retained top position in the bowling rankings ahead of fellow Windies slow bowler Samuel Badree. Currently, Narine is banned by the ICC because of an illegal bowling action.

The new rankings surfaced at a time when top cricketing nations are gearing up for their preparation for the World T20 in India. The sixth version of Twenty20 international showpiece event will take place in March and April this year.
