Over the last few days, the support for the Kamal Haasan
poured in from the film fraternity for its screening in Tamil Nadu
where the court was still mulling over the law and order concerns, communal amity and the actor's huge investment in the movie.
The Madras high court on Tuesday reserved its decision on Vishwaroopam till 8.30pm on a plea filed by Kamal Haasan for a stay on the two-week ban imposed by the Tamil Nadu government on the film in the state, Hindustan Times
Reportedly, Tamil Nadu government officials had been insisting that Vishwaroopam be edited by about an hour to make the film suitable for screening in Tamil Nadu.
It may be recalled that in Tamil Nadu the film was banned temporarily, following protests from Muslim groups and matter was taken to High Court of the state. The decision still hangs in balance since the state government wants that film should be edited before its release.
