Ecstatic at his win, Vivek says," I am thrilled by this honor. For me this is not only a moment of personal but also national pride. The award not only honors a person but also recognizes the burgeoning section of young entrepreneurs in our country
Vivek started his entrepreneurial journey by creating India’s first social networking web portal Desimartini.com, which he later sold to HT media, in November 2007. He then created Secondshaadi.com - a matchmaking site for divorced people, which is now India’s no 1 matrimonial website for remarriages. He launched the third website this year - Gaadi.com, which focuses on new and used car sales. Within just five months of its existence Gaadi.com is the No. 2 automobile Web site in India, wherein people can buy and sell used cars and has already sparked the interest of car makers.
In coming future Vivek is all geared up to launch three more internet facing consumer businesses under his group company Accentium.
Business Week launched Asia’s Best Young Entrepreneur Awards to identify Asia’s new class of business risk takers. Last year the title was won by Bo Shao from China.
