Vivo IPL 2016 match preview: Will Kings XI reverse their fortunes against the Mumbai Indians today?
In match number 21 of the Vivo IPL 2016, home team Kings XI Punjab is pitted against the defending champions Mumbai Indians. The match takes place at the the IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali on Monday.

Kings XI Punjab are languishing at the bottom most spot of the IPL 2016 points table with just 2 points so far with one win from five games and an even poorer net run rate. What hurt Punjab even more was the manner in which their bowlers were taken to the cleaners by the Sunrisers, especially their skipper David Warner, who scored 59 from 31 balls.

While batting first on three occasions, Kings XI Punjab have only managed the highest score of 143-6 so far. Their top order and most prized players Glenn Maxwell and Divid Miller haven't been among the runs.

Even Mumbai Indians are not faring too well in this season of IPL. They Just have two wins from six matches so far. They stand at the number 6 of the IPL 2016 points table with 4 points and a negative run rate of -0.528. MI lost the last match to Delhi Daredevils.

Although skipper Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu have been batting well consistently, they have got little support from players like Parthiv Patel and Hardik Pandya. Kieron Pollard and Jos Buttler too have performed only in fragments.

With scores of 38, 32, 51, 8 and 25, 22-year old Manan Vohra has been the only saving grace for the Kings XI batting, although he must now start converting good starts into big knocks. Exactly the same apllies to his batting partner Murali Vijay.

Head to head, there is absolutely nothing to chose between the two sides, having won 8 games apiece from the 16 IPL matches they have played against each other so far. Shaun Marsh has an excellent record against the Mumbai Indians, with 430 runs from nine matches with an average of 53.75, which includes five half-centuries.

The Mohali wicket during IPL 2016 so far has aided spinners as much as it has aided the pacers.
