VMF organized seminar on World Heart Day
More than 70 heart disease specialists from Delhi NCR and near-by areas participated in this event and discussed the new developments in this area and ways to make people more aware about it.

NORTH INDIA'S first dedicated centre for diabetes and lifestyle diseases VMF Holistic Centre for Diabetes and Lifestyle Diseases organized a seminar on “Diabetes and Heart” on World Heart Day at its centre in Noida Sec 67. More than 70 heart disease specialists from Delhi NCR and near-by areas participated in this event and discussed the new developments in this area and ways to make people more aware about it. Ms Rashi Singhal, Founder- VMF Holistic Centre for Diabetes and Lifestyle Diseases emphasized on the need of awareness of the issue and preventive measures in her opening remark. She said, “Cardiovascular diseases collectively form the number one worldwide killer and those patients who have diabetes are four times more prone to develop this disease. In India, heart disease is the single largest cause of death, with heart attacks being responsible for one third of all deaths caused. About 35 to 50 percent of cases of heart disease in India affect people below the age of 50. People can avoid this danger by changing their lifestyle and eating habits.”      


Chief Guest of the seminar, Dr. Rajeev Agrawal, Senior Heart Specialist, Jaswant Roi Multispeciality Hospital said in his remark that – poor lifestyle, tension, and improper diet, etc., are the major reasons of heart diseases. Daily physical activities, routine balanced diet, and yoga can help in controlling heart diseases as well as other lifestyle problems like obesity. He further added that lessons on basic life support should be made mandatory since it can help save many lives. With India being considered as the world capital in terms of heart diseases it is essential that focus should be on educating masses. In past heart disease was mostly found in elderly people but today it is very common in youths and in some cases even children have been affected by cardiac defects.

Mrs. Sadhna Sood, CEO, VMF Holistic Centre for Diabetes and Lifestyle Diseases, thanked all guests present on the occasion for their active participation in the discussion and informed that this year - One World, One Home, and One Heart is the theme of the World Heart Day.
