In the current batch of six students, one of former West Indies Cricketers, Colin Croft and Clive Lloyd are students. Several West Indians players both past and present are contributing as guest lecturers. In this academic session, Indian cricket is a key focus area. The prestigious Frank Worrel Memorial Lecture will be delivered on the 'Rise and Fall of Indian Premier League (IPL) which is most revolutionary and lucrative tournament in cricket history'.
This degree was introduced four years ago; it has eight courses, a research project and a practical. It is designed for people with a minimum required experience of three years in a managerial position in a cricketing environment or two years in another sport. The course fee is $ 10,000. This course is very useful to explore the management side of cricket. Students are required to submit their research papers.
The curriculum includes the political and social history of West Indies cricket, contemporary issues, and financial issues, sports psychology, leadership qualities, human resource management, cricketers' text and testimonies of legends.
The course has been developed in response of the need for improved competency in management and reproduction of excellence in cricket culture. The course objective is to develop managerial talent, to contribute regional requirement in the field of cricket management besides fostering an appreciation of the role of cricket in West Indian society.
Right now, this degree has specific bias and interest, pertaining only to West Indies cricket, but slowly it will be extended to other parts of the world. Get ready to join!
