Guess who is the latest from the cricket fraternity to have been bitten by video albums bug. It's former Pakistani cricketer, Wasim Akram. The video 'soona soona' will feature Akram along with wife Huma for the album 'Journey' by a pop band Fuzon.
WHAT IS common between Sandeep Patil, Mohsin Khan, Salil Ankola, Ajay Jadeja, Vinod Kambli, and Wasim Akram besides cricket? It is their penchant towards Bollywood and video albums. The latest to join this bandwagon is Wasim Akram, former Pakistani cricketer. He will be featuring in a video ’soona soona’ along with his wife, Huma for the album ’Journey’ by pop band Fuzon. This time he will not be donning his usual cricket gear and entertaining the world with his ball and terrorising batsmen, but would be in a different avatar. The band said, "We know Wasimbhai for quite a long time, but our dream came true when he agreed to do this album for us."
When questioned the Sultan of Swing about his new interest besides commentary, he said, "I love experimenting both on field and off field. I love Hindi songs and this video is nothing, but my love towards Hindi songs." When asked about any plans for Bollywood entry, he blushed, "That I will keep for my friend Shoiab Akhtar. If down the road any offer comes to me, I will direct it to Akhtar."
The Pakistani all-rounder is the latest from the cricket fraternity to have been bitten by the acting/featuring bug.
This will surely keep the cricketers stay in limelight and that happens to be a good option to experiment with new things, when their careers are in doldrums.
