We are all crimson inside
Whether white, brown or black, we all human beings and crimson blood flows in our veins. America should not meddle in the internal matters of others. Their big brother attitude must end. They must realise that all of us are crimson inside.
FROM 1776 to 2008, American history has been a chequered one with numerous achievements that changed the countenance of the society at home and abroad. These have been written on golden leaves in indelible imprints, with the abolition of slavery and many more beneficial Acts for the good of the entire mankind. The American dream of having in the White House a black president, portrayed in a number of Hollywood films, has at last become a reality after two centuries. Martin Luther King - both senior and junior – must be smiling from heavenly abode.

While talking about peace, the world had witnessed Pearl Harbour, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which have smeared the face of humanity with the blackest of ash. This dark period of history may not be repeated by any human being, except, however, the fanatic terrorists, who are lowlier than beasts. Terrorism must be erased from the surface of the earth.

The American president-elect holds a similar opinion and this is truly appreciable. Whether white, brown or black, we all human beings and crimson blood flows in our veins. What counts most is the value that is professed and practiced by a person with regard to inter personal as well as inter governmental dealings.

There is no gainsaying that the president of any nation would give utmost priority to the interest of its citizens and for well being of the nation. America is said to be the most powerful nation in the world and it is rightly so at the moment even though the nation is passing through a difficult financial situation. That the nation will tide over the crisis - there is no doubt about it.

With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the world has become a unipolar power structure, which is perhaps the reason that the American one-upmanship has become very eminently prominent. The big brother attitude of the American system has been discernible in its policies towards Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and other nations. A statement of the president-elect Barack Obama expressing his intention of mediating in the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan is a clear example of the domineering attitude that is inherent in the system. Such meddling attitudes must be curbed at the very outset.

We – India as a nation – need not be overjoyed at the election of a black person to adorn the seat of power at White House. We need not suffer from any kind of complex that the American president-elect has not talked to our prime minister immediately after his election. These petty matters should be ignored. What needs to be done is to keep the status of our country lofty without allowing to be bogged down by any forces whatsoever.

In the recent times, the world has witnessed the gravest kind of terror strikes perpetrated by some mad elements for some bizarre objectives and therefore, the need of the hour is to work in unison to eradicate these evils. While the world has gone nuclear, quite a number of countries have tested their nuclear devices. It is a matter to be noted with seriousness that while nuclear power has many beneficial utilities, the devastating effects have also been witnessed in the past.

While the nuclear non-proliferation is a welcome move, it is to be on a level playing field. All the nations, including America, must adhere to the principles of non-proliferation and all the nuclear installations in whatever country these exist must be open to inspection by all. The whole of the world is not to be run at the diktat of America alone. All nations need to unite to put on hold whenever American domineering attitudes come to the fore. While no other nations should interfere in the internal affairs of America, this nation too should not meddle in the affairs of others. Respect is reciprocal for all.

By creating history a black person is going to occupy the most powerful position, the whole world is jubilant. It is an occasion to be ecstatic certainly; but at the same time the world must also be vigilant and eager to usher in a new era of world history. This may be achieved by the concerted efforts of all the nations, whether big or small.

American citizens have proved that whatever the colour of our skins be on the outside, inside we are all crimson. Whether in America or Serbia or for that matter any other country of the world, we human beings are same. Our blood is never blue or black. Let’s all nations prove that we are human beings with crimson blood flowing in our veins.
