We will celebrate our freedom on the day we stop fighting with each other in the name of religion, language and land. And that day we shall be able to venture out of our homes without any fear of being molested or harassed.
AFTER 66 years of independence, India definitely is on the route of progress but its people are still searching for a piece of land where they can live independently without any fear. India may have won 6 medals on the Olympics but the battle to live freely is still to be won.
We are still questioned about our existence. We are sometimes tagged in the name of doubtful citizens of India and sometimes burnt alive in the name of custom and belief. We are threatened by extremists and challenged by corrupt society. We are forced to abide by the unfair rules and regulations of the society.
We talk about freedom of speech but in reality we don’t have the right to even utter a word. We are surrounded by the tragic fear of daily bread and butter. We live in a country where 26% people are illiterate and 37% people live below poverty line.
Thousands of people in Assam have become homeless due to floods and riots but our ministers are least bothered. Many states have corrupt ministers as their idols. We are united in the name of cricket but from our heart we are wicked.
Pointing fingers on others is our only aim; we are Indians only from heart and slogan.
Hope a day will come when we will surely have a sweet home and a sacred heart to say it’s the day when we can celebrate our freedom.
