We should emulate China to become a superpower like the Dragon nation
China, which was as backward as India about sixty years ago, has progressed much more than India and except for IT sector, has overtaken India in all other fields. China will certainly overtake India in the IT sector also if India does not take certain steps, which China has taken.

India can certainly overtake China in prosperity and maintain its superiority in the IT sector if it takes these steps. It has to adopt one child norm like China because it is impossible to provide education and healthcare to the teeming millions that are added to our population every year apart from feeding them.

It has also to reform its labour laws on the pattern of China to attract FDI to our country, as FDI has been the main factor in China's progress.

In addition, it has to develop robust sense of nationalism like China and stop thinking in terms of caste, creed or state. The question is whether the Communists will let the Government of India, which they are supporting, do that.

At present, the Communists do not seem inclined to support one child norm nor are they inclined to agree to reforms of labour laws because these are not populist measures. They are also not thinking in terms of whole of India but only in terms of West Bengal. More or less, they too are guided by vote catching consideration. Even other political parties in the Government are also guided by these considerations. All they are interested in is winning the elections.

These parties including the Communists must understand that like China, tough measures are needed to be taken to develop all sections of India. Further, the Communists have also to learn that what is good for West Bengal is also good for India. This is necessary because IT sector too is dependent on outsourcing and if we do not have labour laws that could attract outsourcing then China will certainly snatch our superior position from us.
