Week-long New Delhi World Book Fair begins
New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) is being held from 4th - 10th February 2013 at the Pragati Maidan exhibition grounds, New Delhi. The fair will be organised jointly by National Book Trust (NBT) and India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).

According to the organizers, NDWBF offers the participants a unique opportunity of doing business with the growing book industry. It works as a forum for the literary and publishing conferences and programmes for the publishing professionals and intellectual world of South Asia.

"The theme of the fair is 'Indigenous Voices: Mapping India's Folk and Tribal Literature', where the multifarious expressions of India's traditional cultures including exhibition of books, traditional art forms, crafts, panel discussions and performances will be showcased," announced the organisers.

France, which has a strong publishing industry, is the Guest of Honor Country at the NDWBF-2013. A large contingent of French publishers have put up their stalls at the venue of the book fair. “The vibrant cultural heritage of France with its music, food as well as cinema and other cultural performances will form a major component of French presentation,” the organizers said.

The organisers informed that the number of titles published has increased by 16% in the last 20 years, and editorial production has more than doubled.
