What can you do for a healthy heart?
The World Heart Day, which is held on 29th September every year, was first observed in 2000 by the World Heart Federation to remind people about the severity of the problem, and of ways to prevent heart-related diseases. Today is a good day spare your precious time for an equally precious part of your body.

HEART DISEASE has become the leading cause of death worldwide, about 39 percent cases of heat attacks are fatal and about 40-75 per cent of the victims die before reaching the hospital. This disease is packed with a variety of problems such as heart attacks, high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, chest pain and strokes. Indians are about four times more susceptible to heart problems than other countries, and 25 percent of heart attacks take place in the adult age group.


But if you follow some of the following heart health and lifestyle tips, then you will stay away from heart disease. Some of the risks of heart diseases cannot be changed such as family history, age or sex, but the other criteria can be managed by following some simple hearty healthy tips.

1. Avoid smoking and use of tobacco

This is the first and foremost cause of heart disease, and also the most significant one. The chemicals present in tobacco can block blood vessels and damage the heart, which can lead to Atherosclerosis. And also the nicotine present in cigarette smoke increases the heart rate and blood pressure.

2. Thirty minutes of exercise per day

Exercising for at least 30 minutes a day will keep you away from the risk of fatal heart diseases and keeps your heart healthy. Exercising for thirty to sixty minutes a day will also keep you away from stress, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. Activities such as gardening and housekeeping are also exercises.

3. Healthy eating habit

A diet plan that is rich in whole grains, cereals, pulses, fruits and vegetables and low in fats, cholesterol and salt is a heart healthy food. Some low fat sources of protein and fish are also good for one's heart health.

4. Regular health check up

A regular health check up, which includes blood pressure, cholesterol level and diabetes screening, should be done. This will help you to know about your health condition, and if you find any variations then you can immediately consult a doctor, which will decrease the risk of heart disease.

5. Including green tea in your diet

It is one of the best heart healthy tips, as green tea is rich in antioxidants, it will help to reduce the cholesterol levels in the body, and lower blood pressure. Green tea can also prevent the growth of cancer cells.

6. Taking a high fibrous diet

A fiber rich food is the best diet for a healthy heart. Some studies suggests that heart attack and fibrous diet are inversely proportional to each other.

If we follow the above heart healthy tips, then you will be the one to skip the risk of heart disease, which has affected about 61 million people in the most developed country America.
