What Gurgaon people want from their political leaders?
Leaders are the pillars of our nation on which our country depends. If our pillar are harmed, then it will effect the whole building or in this case the nation. Either the building is strong enough to take the load or we choose the right pillars to make it work.
We, as a socially responsible society, have been constantly applying our minds to find ways and means of unifying and harmonizing the country for the coming generation. The leader who will work for the country without expecting something for his own is what India demands.

We need a leader, who will move our country towards progress. "One who walks, thinks and act like a leader. One who work for his people not for himself not for money. What we need is a change not a revolution so quick," said a common man.

India has several serious problems. Some of the glaring ones being poverty, lack of water, lack of sanitation, inability to manage wastes in cities and villages, rampant corruption, lack of education, inadequate medical help especially to the poor, poor infrastructure., etc.

People have some simple expectations from the leaders they seek. Some wants the person should be in politics to serve the nation and its countrymen and not to serve himself or his family, while others feel that he should have well understanding of diversity in India as well as present eco-social condition of our country. Some people also feels that as a political representative, a candidate should have educational qualification and Intellectual capacity to understand his responsibilities and that he should have clear understanding that, to retain India's sovereignty, he himself and his politically team should think beyond religion, caste, language and should also stop creating issues based on such divide and rule policy.

Trying to understand what the people of Gurgaon wants from their political leaders, we had a word with some representative figures from different parts of the Millennium city.

Mr. Satish Kumar Sodhani, President of Sector-1, Palam Vihar Resident's Welfare Association (RWA)said - "How to expect anything from them ? What good have they done for society? We need a leader who influences the administration for better upkeep of the colony."

''You can see a strong patriarchal protective approach towards women. A leader should bring a change in the thinking of the commons so the nation grows keeping women's development in mind. They should think about their expectations as individuals, I'm not someone's behen-beti," said Sehba Imam of Let's Walk Gurgaon.

Mangat Ram Bagri, Councillor of MCG had a few points as well. In his perfect hindi diction he said" Yahi sochkar vote karte hain k acha kaam karenge, badlaav aega. Par fark nazar nahi aata. Changes chahie. Logon ko hisaab rakhna apne leaders k ek-ek kaam ka aur ussi ke dam p faisla lena chahie."

India had some very good leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Ganadhara Tilak, Bhagat Singh and now we truly need another person, who can show Gurgaon and India the way.
