What went wrong among Katie, Tom and Scientology?
The split of actors Katie Holmes, 33, and Tom Cruise, 50, is the latest buzz of the entertainment world. Katie is a noted American actress who had started dating actor Tom in 2005 and got converted to the Church of Scientology since Cruise was a staunch follower of Scientology religion.

TOM HAD proposed Katie on June 17, 2005, on top of Paris's Eiffel Tower and they got married on November 18, 2006 at Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano in Italy. Their Scientology-based wedding ceremony was attended by the big-wigs of the glamour and film industry. Before the official marriage, Katie gave birth to her first baby-girl named Suri.

On June 29, 2012, Katie announced that she had filed for divorce from Tom after five years of marriage. According to the media, this is going to be the first divorce for Katie and the third for Tom if granted. It is being said Katie fears abduction of Suri by Tom and intimidation by the Church of Scientology. It is speculated that Scientology and its role in the upbringing of Suri was a key factor in the split of Katie and Tom.

It is being said that Katie found guidelines of Scientology for parenting Suri bizarre and decided to reclaim her life and revert to her original name.

Late L. Ron Hubbard created scientology as a way of life in 1952 characterized it as a religion and creation of the Church of Scientology in Camden, New Jersey, in 1953.

Scientology as a religion teaches that people are immortal beings who have forgotten their true nature and their spiritual rehabilitation was possible by the technique called ‘auditing’, in which practitioners aim to consciously re-experience painful or traumatic events in their past in order to free themselves of their limiting effects.

Furthermore, in Scientology, ceremonies for events such as weddings, child naming, and funerals are observed along with attending Friday services are held to commemorate the completion of a person's religious services during the prior week.

However, press reports from several countries indicate that the Church of Scientology is more of a commercial enterprise that exploits its members.
