What's the creditworthiness of Anna Hazare?

It refers to Anna Hazare parting ways with Arvind Kejriwal. Though the strategy of the Anna-Arvind team has been derailed ever since it singularly opposed the Congress party in the Hissar Lok Sabha by-elections, yet such a sudden decision of Anna Hazare to part ways with Arvind Kejriwal on the issue of formation of a political party was difficult to understand.

THE DECISION was in contradiction to what Anna Hazare announced while ending his last fast at Jantar Mantar together with Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai.

Anna Hazare’s creditworthiness towards his (earlier) associates was under suspicion when he had ‘secret’ meetings with Union Law Minister without taking other team members into confidence. It is also time to know why Arvind Kejriwal distanced himself from NCPRI.

Nothing fruitful can be achieved through such road-shows, and in the changing attitude of turning anti-graft agitations having political and/or non-political motoves. The Anna-Arvind team lost a golden opportunity to get the ‘Right-To-Reject’ a dream come true at the time of the Hissar Lok Sabha by-election.

Anti-graft activists should first better concentrate on wide-ranging poll-reforms, and bring political parties under the purview of the RTI Act - rather than making a mockery of themselves through rift amongst themselves from time to time.
