What's the reason behind Bollywood's silence over Manikarnika?
Manikarnika – the Queen of Jhansi starring Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has finally been released in theatres to both good critical acclaim and box office success.

With a lot of controversies attached, the film has been labelled as a troubled production since day one. However, the film managed to have a smooth release on 25th January and recorded great weekend collections for a female driven film.

Although the film has been receiving much love from the public, the industry has been silent over the film ever since its release. What is really surprising is that neither of the major celebrities, actors, actresses from Bollywood have come up to speak about the film nor attended its screenings. While some personalities did manage to find time to watch and appreciate the film, they mostly belong to the actress's friend circle.

The media has reached out to the actress several times and she has been quite vocal on the issue. According to her, the whole industry which is known as Bollywood has 'ganged' up against her film to get her cornered. She made objections to the film fraternity for being silent on a film that is made on such an important topic. The film speaks about one of the biggest rebellion freedom fighters of India's freedom struggle and it is imperative that people must watch the film and give their views about the patriotic heroes and heroines that laid our lives for our country's freedom.

While we do agree with Kangana's thoughts to an extent, its important right now that she should concentrate in giving more boost to her film so it can have a long run in theatres. The need of the hour is to have the film tax-free so that it can easily be afforded and enjoyed by the average Indian. Also, the film should not lose its screens as it has to maintain stable collections in the coming days.

While it's tough to say that if the industry has gone out against Ranaut for her film. It's indeed surprising that most of the Bollywood celebrities couldn't find time to write or speak about such an important national figure on which the film is based. You would find many celebrities sharing their thoughts on some of the most ridiculously made films to promote or support their friends. Some of the films that have been made lately don't even deserve the respect to be written about. Yet it's Bollywood. Sometimes it makes you wonder whether the film fraternity does really work within a single force.

Are Kangana's allegations and claims against her contemporaries really true or it's something otherwise. Whatever the case may be, a film's status is much bigger than of its leading face. And when we are talking about something as vital as people related to our country's freedom struggle. It's important that we must come out to lend support to our heroes and heroines that did not think twice before sacrificing themselves towards the nation. We are just acting selfish and turning our back against their bravery and valour.

While it's understandable for Kangana to feel bad and frustrated at this kind of behaviour, it must also be noted that she should look at the bright picture instead. The film is doing wonders. It's getting appreciated from all quarters. An example of Bollywood actor Salman Khan glorifies the fact that he has only cared about the love from people that watch his films, neither the support from industry nor the awards. Kangana should imply the same for herself because at the end you are making films for the people and not for the industry.
