When will politicians stop playing with our lives?
We say in Hindi, 'Hamara Bharat-Desh mahan' (India is great). India is the world's largest democracy, at least on paper. But what her politicians are doing in the name of religion and caste, not only shames the whole humanity but also raises an important question - are we at all secular?

HOWEVER, I am made to stand embarrassed infront of the entire universe with my head hanging down in shame almost everyday, for our country fails to handle so many sensitive issues wisely- like for instance; culture and religion.

Every time, there is an upsurge of unrest on our soil. In a worst nightmare, it would be between Indians belonging to various religions, castes and creeds who are always pitted against one another as scapegoats for the politicians and that would be so blatantly apparent to us when brought to us at our homes on our TV and computer screens (trying to divide us every now and then for securing the votes by various political parties in the country).

India is a secular country. We know our forefathers fought for our freedom and thereby, had restored peace and order in the soil by going to the extent of giving up their lives. Blood boils to see religion being used as an advantage by political parties. We commoners believe people  from all other religions are our families too. Do the various political parties understand politics is not a game about human lives? Do they even get it, we are not daft? We may be helpless in our current situation trying to manage our lives on this soil in what is supposedly to be a glorious developed modern India soon. Things are getting expensive with every passing second and poor are becoming poorer. Starving homeless people are swelling on the roadsides. All in all, the picture is most Indians are facing starvation every day.

Politics must be politics if the politicians show their purpose of serving the country. They will get our votes naturally. Listen to us!

Actually, we have to change ourselves to see our nation changing.

Its not always fair to blame the politicians. It has become a practice these days. How many of us will actually come forward to change the world by nominating ourselves in election? If you go back to college days didnt you find your General Secretary or the elected group corrupt? Won't they use a part of the college fest fund for their own benefit? It's everywhere - just that we do not do anything about it.

I like the title of this article - honestly the politicians are taking us for a ride. However, we are also responsible to some extent for this. Are we not the ones who vote and then re-vote for these leaders?

The politicians will stop once they are made to believe that next time their life will be in danger if they try to instigate any communal tensions.

Vote politics is weakening the roots of our country. It is the public that can teach a good lesson to the corrupt and only-vole loving politicians.

POLITICAL PARTIES IN INDIA ARE OPPORTUNISTS. THEY DO NOT CARE INNOCENT LIVES. WHAT THEY CARE IS THEIR VOTES.
