It is indeed a shame that Kasab was hanged a day after Thackeray died to show that as long as he lived the deed was not done under Thackeray's pressure.
A country that cannot claim a son who died for it is actually two countries - one that weeps for him silently and suffers and the other who wears a mask in internationals balls and dances to the orchestra of political necessity.
They will avenge him in a manner we cannot even imagine. Today, I miss Mrs Indira Gandhi, the only woman to ever grace the chair of prime minister in India; only she would have been able to steer us out of this crisis. God Bless India; for when our hour of trial comes we shall need him (God).
Dozens of Marcos Commandos, thousands of jawans of the Mumbai Police, National Security Guards - Kasab pinned them down for days in a battle which showed that our leaders never learn.
We did a repeat of the mistakes we made in 1962 when we sent our boys carrying world war I Enfield Rifles to face Chinese Machine Gun Fire. We sent them with faulty gear and bullet proof vests that did not work; we saw then die helplessly. That was the first blood and now we will sit around surrounded by scams till Rambo two comes along. They will surely attack and there is no doubt about it. What I want to know is who won at the end of this first round - they our us? I don't think it was us?
Today we demand an answer from our leaders. What are they doing to prevent this crisis? They must realize they have left a wounded wolf in the jungle by chopping off a paw; it shall seek a soft victim. What would a wolf do under such circumstances? We have killed their son; will they strike against our children now? How safe are schools in India from terrorist attacks?
