While the whole world is thinking of going to Mars, UAE wants to build Mars on Earth
While the whole world is thinking about going to Mars, the rulers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dubai thought that it would be a criminal waste of time, and said, "Hey, why don't we build our Mars here!"

Yes, that is exactly what is happening. The UAE is using its vast deserts to build a huge "space city" which shall simulate Mars like conditions on Earth.

The project named the 'Science City' is going to cost 115 million euros. Spread over 1.9 million square feet, it will be the largest space simulation city that has ever been built.

Danish architect Bjarke Ingels has also been roped in to develop this city and will work along UAE's own scientists and engineers. What has also come to light is the fact that the walls of this city will be made with 3D printed desert sand.

By making a city in the desert that has living conditions replicating that of human cities that various countries are developing on Mars does not mean that the UAE is even blinking on its original plan. The UAE Mars Mission is in place and has a plan to develop a human colony on Mars. The deadline for this project is 2117.

Along with futuristic domes that contain laboratories for food, energy and water, the Science City will also have a museum that shall display the greatest space achievements that humans have been able to make.

Dr Mohammed Al Ahbabi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, Dr Mohammad Al Ahbabi took to Twitter and said that this project is another indicator that shows the seriousness of UAE's space exploration efforts.

And will this be a source of revenue? Well, it's the UAE, and they don't do anything that doesn't bring in revenue!
