Whitney Houston laid to rest but not gossip
The icon and singer died at the age of 48 and was laid to rest after a week in New Jersey but will it be the end of gossip? Probably not, as stories of a lesbian relationship are doing the rounds.

WHITNEY HOUSTON was laid to rest amidst thousands of fans and the actual ceremony was attended by her family only in New Jersey on 19 February. She was laid next to her father, John Russell Houston Jr., at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Fans were seen waiting to say goodbye to the pop icon with waves, flowers and placards and bouquets. She was laid in a silver casket, which was drawn in a golden hearse to be closely followed by a black truck filled with purple roses, pink carnations and white lilies.

Although the singer has been laid to rest but the gossip following her death is far from dead. Many people have come up with the thought that after losing her friend (and probably lover) Robyn Crawford, to death, she began drug abuse. Well, the family would forever chase ghosts of the singer as the people are in no mood to leave the icon alone in her grave.

The private service was invitation only, and the casket was watched over by 10 security guards. Inspite of the hour of mourning security guards were alert as to the milling crowd were seen crowing outside the service area with banners, photographs and flowers saying their final goodbyes.

The hearse with the body came to the venue just before the service at 11:45 am and the driver seemed to be crying. She was playing Houston’s greatest hit I Will Always Love You as reported by dailymail.com. A day before the service another service was held in the church the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, where she started singing as a choir person.

The who’s who of the music world was invited to the private service in New Jersey and everyone mourned the untimely death of the singer with their own messages and song. The co-star of one of Whitney’s best remembered movie Kevin Costner, along with friends such as Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, music mogul Clive Davis were present to say their final goodbye.

Her immediate family with mother and daughter were devastated. When her mother was mourning the death of her daughter, Houston’s ex-husband created quite a drama by bringing in more guests than previously informed and the security did not allow that to happen. He stormed out of the service but later returned.
