Who don't believe in concept of 'Motherland' are threat to national security
Dr A Surprakash, Chairman of Prasar Bharati said that those who don't believe in the concept of 'Motherland' are open threat to national security and unity.

Speaking on the occasion of the birth centenary year of Jana Sangh founder member and its key ideology Pt Deendayal Upadhayaya, he deplored that Deendayalji's ideas have been relegated to the background for over 70 years.

Addressing a seminar on "Integral Humanism - Direction to the World" organised by Samachara Bharati Cultural Association and Chetana in Hyderabad, the veteran journalist deplored that in the post independence we have swung from one ideology to another without having any long term vision rooted in ethos of our civilization.

First we were infatuated by the socialistic model of Russia and then by West's capitalism leading to a confused and ill-amalgamated economic theory of 'mixed economy'.

But, we have to look into the philosophy of Integral humanism - which is rooted in our Dharmic traditions, he added.

Stating that one must earn his bread is a Western concept, he said that way back in 1967, Deendayalji said the even children, old, invalid who can't earn their bread all must be cared and fed by the society. Man must work not merely for bread but to also fulfil his social obligations and responsibilities.

He denounced that both the Communists and Socialists did not understand the concept of "The Integral Man," advocated by Deendayalji, Suryaprakash made it clear that "We want neither Socialism nor capitalism. We want Happiness of the integral man."

He said that according to Deendayal, to educate a child is responsibility of society. To charge fees for education and medical care is not our tradition.

Society must nurture a child for its long term interest and well being. He noted that no Princely State charged for education before Independence. Society used to bear the education cost. Free medical aid should be government's responsibility. If a person has to pay for these basic needs, then that will not qualify to be a Dharmic state.

Moreover, he said that Deenadayal also asserted that man has a limitation of his hands and needs assistance of machine. They have to work together and are not independent of the other. Guaranteeing work to every able bodied individual is a responsibility of the state. One cannot miss the influence Deendayalji's thoughts have on schemes such Jan Dhan Yojana, Skill India, Crop insurance, Beti-bachao - Beti-padhao introduced by headed by Narendra Modi government.

Over 25 crore bank accounts have been opened under Jan Dhan Yojana, many of them with zero balance. This is feat which has no parrallel anywhere in the world.

This government is also taking up right to work . Is it not criminal to brand such a thinker as "Right Winger" and an icon of merely one party?, he added.

Though Deendayalji had holistic thought, he accused that Nehruvians and Marxists have consciously conspired to keep his views out of national memory.

Gandhi, Nehru, Marx are taught in our schools, it's time we include Deendayalji's life and teachings in our academic curriculum. Though he was not an elected MP but his vision is producing hundreds of MPs. The time has come for Bharat to correct the historical injustice and it's our responsibility to give him due place in our history and public discourse, he added.
