Why Brazil is my favourite to win the FIFA World Cup 2018?
A total of 32 teams from hardcore football crazy nations. The venue, a bit different this time – Russia.

Millions of hysterical football fans. A record breaking viewership. Billions of dollars worth of endorsements. An epidemic football fever around the whole universe and a golden opportunity for the crooked betting squad. Drastically fallen superstars and fast emerging unknown or little known heroes. A most indulging game of predictions. Man, it appears that the World Cup craze has reached its summit.

Most dynamically, the greatest of upsets have happened beyond the imagination of fans. In the spicy treat so far, former champions Germany have seen the exit door. So only a few heavyweights remain in the fray. These include Brazil, Belgium, Spain, France and England. Out of these, according to most fans, Brazil appears to be the favorite. The reason being not only the glorious presence of individual stars like Neymar, Jesus and Coutinho, but also excellent team work, tremendous coordination and immaculate performance as one robust unit having skillful technique.

What appears fascinating is that while the forwards put in their meticulous attacks, the midfielders are always seen grabbing the ball back in the midfield and the defenders are equally showing their presence in marking the opposition. Also, the coach has apparently done extensive training to ensure that the sweat and toil fully pays back. Even the bench strength is capable of performing whenever needed.

In a most competitive event like the World Cup, strategy plays a vital role. Fortunately, Brazil have got a real solid stronghold here. They change their game plan according to their opponent. If the opponent is from Europe, they change their game plan accordingly and resort to the technique of slowing down the tempo of the game once a lead is established. While encountering teams from South America, they prefer an attacking game play from the very beginning.

Stamina, I believe is one of their core strengths. Each of the footballer gives his 100 per cent from the very first whistle till the the last. Dribbling does not seem to be the trend in the Brazilian squad, rather they believe in passing the ball quickly. Also as one of my friends described, the magic of the training is that you will find that most of the players are there in the right position at the right time, always. This always proves to be a game changer and puts a lot of stress on the defence line of the opponent. The higher level of self esteem and greater confidence enables them to outperform even in the most challenging situation.

Being the hot favorite is another greater advantage which provides thrust on the field and the Brazilian players seem committed to fulfill the expectations of millions of their fans. Dedication and commitment shown on the field is par excellence. Last but not the least, luck also seemingly has been favouring the team as they have been able to improvise the game even in the most challenging hour, for example against Croatia. God is really merciful to the prayers of a layman like me. Come the second week and we will see them proudly holding the cup, amen.
