Why does Indian politics and Indian youth not mix
The youth, on the other hand, feels that the politicians are themselves involved in doing great harm to the nation by the amount of corruption they are involved in, encouraging nepotism and similar practices.

THE RELATION between Indian youth and Indian politics, is a topic which shows the two opposite sides of the same coin. Politicians and leaders state that they wish to involve the Indian youth, but make no concentrated efforts to do so. They blame the lackadaisical attitude of the younger generation on the western culture.

The youth, on the other hand, feels that the politicians are themselves involved in doing great harm to the nation by the amount of corruption they are involved in, encouraging nepotism and similar practices.

The youth declares that the politicians should only preach to them, what they can themselves follow. They also need to connect to the new generation in its terms, with Orkut, Facebook, Twitter, MTV, discs, dreams, adventures and then speak to them.

In this context, the vehement hate that many of the intellectuals and politicians show to social networking websites is not understood. In fact, these very sites have been and are becoming a synonym for freedom of speech, for the Indian youth. They instead, badmouth these sites for unfathomable reasons, claiming that it holds many hate communities. Are they themselves any better?

If we take the current issues of education, healthcare, public administration, poverty and unemployment, we can see the true terms of failure of the politicians. Why do these problems exist, despite more than sixty years of Independence? Does the country not have adequate resources to deal with them?

The main cause of these problems and countless others is again those people who constitute the Indian political arena, misusing their powers, misleading the public and cheating the law itself. And then, they blame the youth, saying that they’re speaking about politics but are not ready to jump into it.

If these politicians work on giving the country more precedence than to their selfish reasons, there would be no need of the youth in politics. It’s bitter but it’s truth that today, we the people of India, have lost their faith from Indian politics and politicians and feel that every political party is the same.
