Why Hindus celebrate Hanuman Jayanti?
The entire India commemorated the birth of Hanuman on Saturday. As he was an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, on his birthday people pay a visit to Ram and Hanuman Temple. The day, also known as Hanuman Jayanti, is very important to Hindus and they celebrate the birth of Lord Rama (Ram Navami) fifteen days before Hanuman Jayanti as it is believed that the birth of both is interlinked.

According to Hindu mythology, Hanuman is the eleventh avatar of Lord Shiva. He is the symbol of strength, energy and is worshiped for his will to assume any form for conquering evil spirit. By worshiping him, one can attain peace of mind. On his birthday, people bathe early morning, apply tilak, read Hanuman Chalisa and offer prasad of laddu to him.

Hindus celebrate this day as a festival.

His deep devotion toward Lord Rama blessed him with a name i.e Ram Bhakt Hanuman. People also call him Bajrangbali, Pawan Putra, Anjani Putra, Sankat Mochan, Maruti, Rudra, Mahavir and many more.

Hanuman played a very prominent role in Lord Rama's life has he was blessed with super natural powers.Along with Lord Rama, Laxman and Vanar Sena he build chain of limestone shoals which is known as Ram Setu to enter in Lanka.

It is all Hanuman's hard work, dedication and devotion toward Rama, which make him special. He is the only God who is always remembered whenever someone is in problem or in trouble. There is not even a single state in India where Hanuman's ancient temple doesn't exists. His devotees believe that he still exists and always answer prayers. Some says that he lives in Himalayas and one can hear Ram chant and feel his presence.
