Why ICC Women's World Cup 2017 is not important for the BCCI?
Indian national broadcaster "DD National" is showing disrespect to women's cricket by not broadcasting India's matches. The same DD National was Live telecasting all of India's matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

How many of you are aware regarding the ICC Women's World Cup 2017 which is going on? How many of you know about the team and cricketers? How many of you are interested in a ball by ball score card? How many of you are interested in watching the live telecast of matches being played by Indian women's cricket team? Even sports journalists and sports enthusiasts are hardly aware of what is going on in England in the ICC Women's World Cup 2017.

I can bet most of you would not even know the name of the skipper of the India women's national cricket team. What record Mithali Raj has created is certainly far from your imagination. However, it is not your fault, but the reason behind this is the unfair, biased and discriminatory behaviour of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

A few days back the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 got over and the BCCI was very vocal for its branding with regards to that tournament. For the India vs Pakistan match in CT 2017, BCCI left no stone unturned for its promotion.

For the BCCI, Indian men's team's Caribbean tour is far more important. For everyone's knowledge, Indian women's cricket team is scheduled to play against Pakistan in the ICC Women's World Cup 2017 on July 2 at County Ground, Derby. This match is not going to make national news, right? Why not one says – BCCI believes in gender discrimination?

In the over decade-old superhit movie of Shah Rukh Khan "Chak De India", one hockey administrator is heard saying – "Hindustani women's hockey na kuch kar payee hai ... na kuch kar payengi…" The same is the thinking of Indian sports administrators and the BCCI. Nothing has changed for many decades in the BCCI or its administrators. I would like to use the term "shameless authority" for the BCCI. They've showed every time that women's cricket is not important for them.

World's richest cricketing body – BCCI – is not a sports body, but a business model. BCCI firmly believes that cricket is a business and that women's cricket cannot make profit. For the BCCI authorities, there is no alternative for money and women's cricket stands as a hurdle in the broad's way for making money.

To, the greedy, unfair, biased and discriminatory board (BCCI), even without your branding and promotion, we Indians will support our superstars in the ICC Women's World Cup 2017.

On the behalf of cricket fans, I just want to say: "My dear women cricketers you are our pride, we have respect for you and our support, cheers, wishes are always with you. Good Luck "Women in Blue".
