Let our government work only on the productive projects instead of framing bills to divide the society for the sake of their own interests and vote-bank politics. I would argue, let there be no reservation at all.
AT THE time of partition, certain clauses were inserted into the constitution to support the downtrodden and needy sections of the society, but decades have passed since. The only motive of these reservations is to help a chosen few who are reaping its benefits.
A person belonging to a scheduled caste or tribe born in early 1950s must be more than 60 years old and blessed with grandchildren by now. Some of the beneficiaries are very well placed at the top echelons of power but their grandchildren still enjoy the benefits at the expense of our hardworking children. Once they attained a good status and became rich, the benefits should have been either voluntariy given up or forcibly taken away otherwise.
I won't consider myself wrong if I dare to say that there should be no caste system and hence no need for reservation at all. Let there be only one general category in which everyone would have equal rights to admissions, jobs or promotions for that matter.
Though I won't generalise but given my experience of 35 years with a PSU, I would like to make known my observations that staff and even officers from SC/ST categories were normally indisciplined, rude, non-courteous, inefficient and adamant too at times.
