Why should we prefer organic foods?
Nowadays, the demand for organic food is increasing with every passing day because people are becoming more conscious about their foods. The market share of organic foods has also increased substantially, according to the American Dietetic Association.

Compared to conventionally prepared foods, organic foods contain very less amount of residual pesticides. The organic foods don’t contain food additives, processing aids and fortifying agents.

Usually we get these organic foods in the super markets, but then there is an issue of freshness of the vegetables and their availability. So Purna Organics, a firm promoting organic farming came up with the idea of having a kitchen-garden of your own, where vegetables will remain fresh and nutritious without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. It is a firm which helps an individual to take control of what he eats.

Mallesh Tigali, CEO Purna Organics told Red Bangle, “The simple fact that the number of hospitals, the number of doctors are increasing means that there are more people who need these services. So if I recollect or connect my childhood, we used to see one or two hospitals in a town and if there is a major problem we used to go to a district. Now every town has got many hospitals.”

He added: “If you deeply analyze the problem, what comes out is the quality of food that we are eating and the lifestyle. So the quality of food and lifestyle are two major factors, it is a bit difficult to change the lifestyle, but we can change the quality of food we eat. There are two parts of the food grains and greens; you cannot grow grains easily on your terrace, but you can grow greens and help to take control of what we eat.”
