Kochadaiyaan, the most anticipated upcoming 3D Tamil period film has finally been locked. Superstar Rajnikanth, KS Ravi Kumar, Soundarya R Ashwin and the key technical crew watched Kochadaiyaan on 28 February 2013. And the movie's director Soundarya R Ashwin excitedly tweeted, 'One of THE most important days of my life. Kochadaiyaan locked. Appa & ks Ravikumar uncle watched the entire movie and r thrilled!'.
Soundarya R Ashwin, the younger daughter of Rajnikanth is making her maiden directorial venture with Kochadaiyaan. She has featured Rajnikanth in the lead role, and also has an impressive group of actors such as Deepika Padukone
, Aadhi, R. Sarath Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Shobhana, and Nassar, and the cinematography of the film has been handled by Rajiv Menon.

And the music is scored by AR Rahman and Rajnikanth has rendered his voice for a philosophical theme song in the movie.
Kochadaiyaan is also being released in Hindi, English, Japanese, Italian and Spanish. Filmnagar sources say that Rajinikanth will be seen in dual roles in this 3D movie. The story of Kochadaiyaan revolves around three courageous Pandyan kings which is done by Rajnikanth (senior), Nasser and Jackie Shroff. The story unfolds to the present generation where Rajinikanth (junior) locks horns with Aadhi (Jackie Shroff's son) on an occassion and that leads them to declare a war between them. Kochadaiyaan is creating buzz since it was announced and was earlier slated to release on Rajini’s birthday in December, but was pushed to pongal and now to the Tamil new year. Now, the film is expected to be a summer holidays treat, and the music scored by AR Rahman is expected to hit the stores in April, reported The Times of India. The producers of the film are planning for a grand audio launch of the film. The film will have a special screening in London, Los Angeles and India.
