Will Sridevi be able to recreate yesteryear's magic?
Like many actress, the much talented Sridevi is making her comeback. Hopefully, her understated image on the screen for the film will help her recreate the same kind of magic that is expected by the audience.

SRIDEVI RULED Indian cinema for quite some time and she was a strong rival to the vivacious Madhuri Dixit. Rival for years, both the actresses almost had the same kind of life, career wise. Mrs Nene, better known as Madhuri to us, settled down and went abroad to lead a happily married life. Now, she is back and had done a movie as a comeback. Sridevi is doing the same as she is also making a comeback with Gauri Shinde's English Vinglish, as reported in ndtv.com.

The film revolves around an Indian housewife who in order to please her husband and her family joins an English speaking class. Directed by R. Balki’s wife, the film revolves around a common scenario in the Indian family, where the yesteryear generation of women are not educated enough to know fluent English. News has it that even Amitabh Bachchan would do a cameo for the film.

Mother of two and married to Boney Kapoor, the south Indian actress made a name in the film industry as the sexy and bubbly heroine with her one-of-a-kind expressions. Be it Mr. India’s angry girl or Chandni’s beautiful heroine she mastered every role. Like Madhuri said once when she came to Koffee with Karan that there was always a healthy competition between both the actresses. Both of them created a space for themselves and they truly are the two gems of Bollywood never to be replaced.

However after Madhuri’s failure in Aaja Nach Le, many are questioning whether at a time when size zero Kareena and dimpled Deepika are ruling the film industry, will these yesteryear beauties have any place? The same concerns are being raised for Sridevi as well. However, there's a difference in both the launches - that of Madhuri and Sridevi. The major difference is that in Aaja Nachle, Madhuri was playing a character much less then her age while by the looks of it, in English Visglish, Sridevi is sporting a much mature look. Decked in floral prints saris and almost make-up free face, with a plait, Sridevi is looking her age.

We must give her credit for the fact that she is ageing gracefully. That the girl with the shrill voice and round playful eyes has emerged as a lady is evident on the sets of the English Vinglish. This film might just do well for the Hawa Hawai girl and defeat her rival Madhuri Dixit.
