Willie Davis is dead. The former Los Angeles Dodgers centre fielder Willie Davis, 69 was found dead in his California apartment today by his neighbour. It appears that he passed away due to natural causes.
WILLIE DAVIS, 69, former Los Angeles Dodgers centre fielder, who spent 14 seasons with the team, in his 18 year career, was found dead at his home in Burbank, California by the police. It is believed that Willis Davis died of natural causes.
Willie Davis' neighbour, who often bought him breakfast had discovered his body this morning. His body is now with Los Angeles County Corner.
The Los Angeles Dodgers centre fielder Willie Davis, had been .279 hitter with 2,561 hits in his career. Known as three dog Davis, he led in the National League twice, made two All star teams and got two golden gloves.
Los Angeles Dodgers owner, Frank McCourt said, "Willie Davis went from a local talent at Roosevelt High School to a World Champion center fielder for the Dodgers in just a few years and many of his records still stand today. He was beloved by generations of Dodger fans and remains one of the most talented players ever to wear the Dodger uniform."
