Top seed Serena Williams defeated her Portuguese opponent Michelle Larcher De Brito by 6-0, 6-4 and Rafa defeated his Japanese opponent Kei Nishikori at the Centre Court in All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, this afternoon by 6-2, 6-4, 6-4.

In Men's singles, Swedish sixth seed  Robin Soderling, tenth seed French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Britain's fourth seed Andy Murray, ninth seed, another Spanish player, David Ferrer, thirteenth seed Russian Mikhail Youzhny, French Lukas Lacko and Gilles Simon also reached into the second round of year's biggest Grass court Tennis championship on June 22.
