THE UEFA Champions League (usually referred to as simply the Champions League or less frequently as the European Cup) is an annual football cup competition organized by UEFA since 1955 for the top football clubs in Europe. It is the most prestigious club trophy in European football. The tournament consists of several stages. In the present format it begins in mid-July with three knockout qualifying rounds. The 16 surviving teams join 16 seeded teams in the group stage, in which there are eight groups consisting of four teams each. The eight group winners and eight runners-up enter the final knockout phase, which ends with the final match. The time record-holder is Real Madrid, who have won the competition nine but unfortunately Real Madrid got knocked out in the early stages after humiliating defeat against Liverpool. Barcelona has great players like Lionel Messi , Thierry Henry , Xavier (Xavi) and Helb .The midfield seems pretty strong but Chelsea’ s defense and midfield are both good with Cech ,John Terry ,Frank Lampard and Drogba nobody should fear Chelsea losing . Young Players like Inavonic seem to turn the game after scoring two brilliant goals against Liverpool in the quarter-finals. Ex- Barcelona midfielder Deco sees no place in the staring line up after being injured for the rest of season.
For the second semifinal clash of Manchester United and Arsenal it is a very close competition. Arsenal and Manchester United are arch- rivals and they know each other very well. After the return of Cesc Fabregas , Samir Nasri and new winter singing Ashravin who has scored 4 goals against Liverpool and Arsenal in Premier League. The poor defense of Arsenal caused them losing 1-2 against Chelsea in the Fa-Cup semifinal. Aresne Wenger would have to make sure they do not repeat their mistakes again in the Champions League semi- final.
Poor goalkeeping also cost Arsenal in the last match. Manchester United one of European nations greatest team after winning last year against Chelsea due to penalty blunder by John Terry. Manchester United feel sorry for themselves after losing 4-2 on penalties against Everton in the Fa-Cup semifinal. Manchester United met Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium where Manchester United lost 2-1 .Edwin Van Der Sar, Gary Neville, Rooney, Ronaldo, and Ryan Giggs are the players who are needed to make Manchester united invincible.
