With 'jantantra yatra', Hazare shows his resolve to change the system
After paying floral tributes to martyrs at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, activist Anna Hazare launched the 'jantantra yatra' with an endeavour to mobilize people in the fight against corruption and the inefficient political system.

However, the dream of those who sacrificed their lives for independence of India has not been fulfilled. They sacrificed their lives with the hope that their future generations would live in prosperity but we are seeing quite opposite as the political class is interested to fulfill its political ambitions instead of working towards a corruption-free society.

Being an apolitical person, Hazare made it clear at the beginning that his Jantantra Morcha will not contest any election as he has no political ambitions or motives in this public awakening but it will definitely stir the people’s conscience and stimulate them to join hands to eradicate evil in the country.

In case, Hazare’s 18-month tour to create public opinion against anti-people politics becomes successful, then it will be a big achievement for him. He is in this belief that the change in politics of the nation could only be possible in case the common man, fed up of the existing system, joins this movement and he is in a position to understand the real meaning of Right to Reject.

In fact, our country is deep in the morass of an inefficient and corrupt political system as over 40 per cent of our elected leaders are bereft of any morale and virtue. They are duping the very people who voted them to power.

It is pertinent to mention that none of the political parties has so far consented to join the important ‘Jantantra yatra’. Whereas, Anna is dreaming to take along with him six crore people after touring Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand, but it is to be seen as to what would be the situation when he organizes a public congregation at Ramlila grounds after five months.

In case, this movement has even a little impact on the public then there is possibility of a change in the nation. Whatever the outcome this Jantantra Yatra has established that Hazare’s determination has not gone weak.

One thing is clear: how powerful the government may be, it has to bow before the united force of the people.
