SACHIN TENDULKAR is one of the greatest batsmen of all time; Virender Sehwag is one of the most destructive batsmen of today’s era; Then, there is the consistent Gautam Gambhir. So out of the three who should walk out to open in the next match at Cuttack? The series has already been won and so there is not much to worry for India. Now India can do some experimentation in its batting line-up. Sachin has a great record in the opening slot but since he has come back after a long time to this format of the game and Gambhir is in good form, the team management can try bringing Tendulkar at No 3. Tendulkar seemed to be struggling in the 4th ODI at Bangalore. He scored only 11 off 21 balls. On the other hand, if Gambhir and Sehwag open then it will be a left-right combo which the bowlers generally do not enjoy. Now in the middle order Sachin can guide other inexperienced players like Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli, whoever gets a chance.
As of now, given the current scenario, it is certain for Gambhir to bat at No. 3 as he has a great record in that position. Gambhir-Tendulkar pair has been disappointing till date and Sehwag’s blasting is well known.
.sachin might have a better record opening the innings rather than one down but from a team point of view, gambhir should open the innings. he is in the right form and at the end of the day, batting positions are not deicided to suit players but the team result as a whole. in the current scenario gambhir opening the innings will give "team india" a better result than sachin opening. THAT is what the team has to look at.

.All that the greatest batsman in the history of ODI's gets is articles from people like you for failing in one and only one match. I mean are you out of it, are you a mentally stable person. Do u perceive things the way others do. If so you need to prove that you are sane. I dont understand how failing to score once is form in wane. You write a monkey crap of an article in this one. You should stop writing for ever for your form as a writer is in wane. Sachin decides where he has to bat, nobody tells him cause he is the best ana he knows what is right. We dont need double standard guys like you who have no knowledge of cricket to write some crap.
I think u need not assess in just one inning and what is this coming after a long time in this form of Game. Man he has already played more than 400 ODIs in past 19-20 years...and please for GOd's sake stop assessing Sachin as we are ignorant and we are small people in front of Lord...and with the 5th ODI's 50, he has already silenced ppl like you...AGAIN!!!!!!!!
hey, you didn't read the whole article. In the last two paragraphs, I have mentioned Sachin Tendulkar's importance and ultimately mentioned Sachin will be opening
.hai friends iam a greatest fan of sachin tendulkar.first of sachin should be given respect.he has served indian cricket for almost 20 years.his form is outstanding in both oneday cricket and test cricket.and he is fit too.he has fielded considerably well in bangalore when young players struggled of wet outfield.He is also a very good runner between the wickets.Sooo one and only he has the full rights to deside where he should bats.I thing he is enjoying cricket even today.so he will decide when he want to get rest.Finally form is temporary but class is permanent.sachin tendulkar HAS THAT FORM.

.i think sachin should bat on number 3 as G gambhir is in right form and more over sachin is a type of batsman who can play in any number in middle order he can show his consistency by being there from in opening he has to make runs so he chooses wrong shots which unfortunate
