Barak Obama commented during a fundraising blitz in Florida, that the 2012 Presidential contest can be likened to the contest that which had been witnessed in 1964 between Lyndon Johnson and Barry Goldwater.
It had been a landslide victory for the Democrats. Lyndon Johnson won 44 of the 60 states and also 61% of the popular votes. That in itself was a record being the largest share of popular votes by any candidate since 1820.
President Obama feels test of his proposal to raise tax on the millionaires would pay rich dividends. While speaking at a fund raising campaign in Palm Beach, he reiterated that the Democrats would ensure that the rich would pay a fair share of taxes whereas the Republicans would try to give still more tax breaks to the rich.
