Within hours Michelle Obama gets 100,000 followers on Twitter
After the controversial book of Jodi Kantor, the Obamas were slipping from the good eye of the Americans but all is not lost as Michelle Obama is still popular and got 100,000 followers soon after she joined twitter.

WHEN MICHELLE Obama, the first lady of United States recently did an interview with Gayle King on the Jodi Kantor book ‘the Obamas’ that raised a lot of eyebrows, Gayle asked what would the 2012 Michelle tell the 2008 Michelle, especially at the time of re-election. Although they were discussing the controversial book, yet Michelle said quite confidently that the 2012 Michelle would ask the 2008 Michelle to just stay focused and campaign. That is precisely what the Obamas are doing and a huge step towards that goal is Michelle joining Twitter.

Within a few hours of joining Twitter Michelle Obama got 100,000 followers, and the first tweet by the campaign team was “We're excited today to launch @michelleobama as a new way for you to connect with First Lady Michelle Obama and the President's campaign." The presidency that made adults and children, alike, chant the words ‘yes we can’ failed to keep many of its promises and the re-election bid will be tough. When the same question was pitched to the first lady in the CBS interview, she said that many people are confused as to the things that president Obama has accomplished and she would definitely want to have him in office for another 4 years as they have so much to do.

They are leaving no stones unturned to campaign for a second time in office as with the help of the microblogging site, Michelle in her first tweet thanked everyone for the warm welcome, and in the second, she tweeted, “Here's something dear to my heart: the MLK Day of Service. Will you join me to serve your community on Monday? http://OFA. BO/NTYQkR –mo," as reported by samachar.com.

The lady, who is known for her work with the families of the military servicemen in the United States, is presently following five twitter accounts. Apart from following the official account of her husband, she is also following Campaign Manager of the Obama team, Jim Messina, the White House and two other White House officials' Twitter accounts namely ‘letsmove and joiningforces.’ Barrack Obama also welcomed his wife with the tweet, “It’s not every day we get to welcome the First Lady of the United States to Twitter—happy to have you, @MichelleObama! Everyone is happy to see the First Lady take to Twitter and it would no doubt have an influence on the re-election process.
