Woman despite not having a uterus gives birth to a healthy baby in the United States
A woman in the United States, who was born without a uterus, has given birth to a healthy baby.

The woman, who was born without a uterus, received a transplant from a living donor last year. While the transplant was performed at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas earlier, the baby boy was born there as well.

In many cases, women are born without a uterus, or in other cases, they have to get it removed because of an illness or due to complications during child birth.

Although uterus transplant isn't a permanent solution, it can be used long enough to have one or two babies.

The woman who delivered this baby received the uterus from a nurse. She has two children and as per reports, she and her husband had decided to not have any more children and when she came to know about the transplant program, she chose to donate her uterus.

Other hospitals have been experimenting on uterus transplants as well, and some of the patients were not able to accept the donor organ and developed infections and complications and thus, the organ had to be removed again. But while this can be a ray of hope for those who do not have a uterus, and want to give birth to a baby, the sad part is that the whole procedure is extremely expensive and not everyone can afford it.

And those who can afford it have to go through other complications such as finding a donor, which is extremely rare, removing the uterus from the donor is extremely risky, the recipient is at a high risk as well and the babies have to be delivered only through a caesarean to avoid putting too much stress on the foreign uterus.
