Women rights group AIDWA condemns brutal attack on protest march to Nabanna
Women rights group, All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) has strongly condemned brutal attack on protest march to Nabanna convened by All India Kisan Sabha and supported by 17 left parties of the state.
There was unprovoked lathi charge, brick batting, water canons, and use of tear gas on more than two lakh people coming from the rural belt of West Bengal.

"Protest was against the state government that has failed to give food security and failed to restore law and order in the state. Many farmers have committed suicide because of the anti-peasant and pro-profiteer policies of the TMC Government," AIDWA said in a statement.

AIDWA supported the protest march and many women participated in the protest. Women were lathi charged and even the women police force was not present there at the spot. Hundreds of women got injured.

Comrade Gargi Chatterjee and Comrade Dipali Mandal were severely injured and they had to be hospitalised. Many other people including women are still in hospital struggling to recover. Many women were given first aid on the spot.

"Protests are not tolerated in the state ruled by Mamata Banerjee. We strongly condemn police atrocities on protest march and silence of Chief Minister in this regard. We also protest the attempt by police to charge sheet and give non bailable charges to the protesters," AIDWA added.
