Women's protest marches across nation held to highlight feminist issues and current socio-political environment marred by hate
A nationwide protest was held in major cities of the country in women, rights campaigners and activists participated in the "Women March For Change" in thousands to highlight the issues feminist and gender issues in politics, policy making and society. Social media exchanged the photographs and videos of the marches from various parts of the country.

In New Delhi, a few thousand various women's groups, rights advocates, social activists and feminists held marches on Thursday to demand that women's rights as well as socio-legal, political reforms to be brought on central stage at the policymaking level.

The noted women rights campaigner Shabnam Hashmi gave a call to women across the country come together to denounce the 'forces that have steered our country towards destruction, religious polarisation, misogyny, casteism and communal politics.' The theme song of the march in Delhi was 'Aurat utthi nahin to zulm badhta jayega.'

There was a general feeling the current political scene dominated by divisive tendencies has women's health and education issues to margins and there was a need for women's collectivisation and engage themselves in a 'feminist politics within the framework of the constitution' to defend their rights by 'rejecting the current environment of hate and violence' and putting it to a halt.
