World Cancer Day: Three-year 'I Am and I Will' campaign launched by UICC
In Jaipur, various hospitals and social groups have been organizing awareness campaigns, free checkups and honouring cancer survivors since February 1, which will culminate of February 4, the World Cancer Day.

On the occasion of the World Cancer Day, WHO and the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) have urged the world community to end the injustice of preventable suffering from cancer and address the cancer burden by reducing the risk factors.

Various governments and health services have called upon to 'overcome barriers to early diagnosis, treatment and palliative care. We can work together to improve cancer control and achieve global targets to reduce premature mortality from cancer and NCDs.'

The UICC informs that the year 2019 marks the launch of the 3-year 'I Am and I Will' campaign as an empowering call-to-action urging for personal commitment and represents the power of individual action taken now to impact the future.

The 3-year campaign is meant to resonate, inspire change and mobilise action for a lasting impact. "A multi-year campaign offers a chance to create long-lasting impact by increasing public-facing exposure and engagement, more opportunities to build global awareness and impact-driven action." stated UICC.
