World Cup Draw 2010 - latest news and live telecast
All eyes are set on Cape Town for the World Cup 2010 Draw for football. Fabio Capello, England Manager will be all tensed up during the World Cup draw in South Africa as France will be one of the last teams drawn.
TODAY IS a big day for all the soccer fans across the world. The wait is almost over. All eyes are set on Cape Town for the World Cup 2010 Draw for football. The draw will take place today evening in the shadow of Table Mountains. The ceremony at the Cape Town International Convention Centre will last around an hour and half in front of 2000 invited guests and around 800 media representatives.
 
The draw will start today but where can one find it on the television to see which group consists of which teams?
 
If you live in the United States, the World Cup draw can be watched live on ESPN 2 beginning at noon ET.
 
For those living in United Kingdom, one can watch the World Cup 2010 draw live on BBC2 which starts at 12:15pm ET/5:15pm GMT.
 
Fabio Capello, England Manager will be all tensed up during the World Cup draw in South Africa as France will be one of the last teams drawn. England is one of the eight seeded countries along with South Africa (hosts), Brazil, Spain, Holland, Italy, Germany and Argentina.
 
The draw procedure:
There are four pots -
 
Pot 1  - The seeded teams
South Africa, Germany, Brazil, Italy, Spain, England, Holland, Argentina.

 
Pot 2 - Asia, Oceania and North/Central America.
Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Mexico, Honduras.

Pot 3 - Africa and South America.
Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Algeria, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay.

Pot 4 - Europe.
France, Portugal, Slovenia, Switzerland, Greece, Serbia, Denmark, Slovakia


The pots will be emptied one by one starting from Pot one. The seeded teams will be assigned to a group A-H. The remaining three positions in each group will be filled from the remaining three pots. However no two teams from the same confederation, will be palying each other in the same group, except Europe who will face two teams in five of the groups.

 
Earlier, two seperate bomb scares had disrupted the World cup draw preparations but then everything has been under control with the South African police making 2 arrests.
