World Cup Kabbadi team announced
Mangat Singh Mangi Bagga will be the captain for this year's Kabbadi World cup and Raider Hardawinder Singh Dulla Surkhpuria will be the vice-captain.

THE INDIAN team for the inaugural World Cup Kabaddi Punjab-2010 has been selected at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana. Mangat Singh 'Mangi' Bagga will be the captain for this year's Kabbadi World cup and Raider Hardawinder Singh Dulla Surkhpuria will be the vice-captain.
After reports from the Medical and Anti-Doping Committee, headed by Dr Manmohan Singh and convener Dr Munish Chander, final team were selected as 13 players were not able to clear the doping test.
The coaching camp is taking place in Ludhiana and all the probable players are practicing at the ground.
Ten countries including Pakistan, UK, USA, Canada, Iran, Australia, Italy, Norway, Spain and host India are competiting for the top honours.
World Cup Kabaddi Punjab-2010 is starting today and it will be held at different venues of the state from April 3 to 12. The Punjab Government is conducting this tournament with total prestigious prize money of Rs.2.16 crores.
The winner of the World Cup will get a huge price of Rs 1 crore and runners-up will get Rs 51 lakh. The second runner-up and third runners-up will get Rs 21 and 10 lacs, respectively. Besides that individual players will be awarded for best raiders and best stoppers. The winning teams would get glittering trophies with a crore.
The teams have already arrived at Ludhiana on April 2. They first arrived at the airport in New Delhi and were escorted to Ludhiana. The teams will move to Patiala today for participating in the opening ceremony at the Yadvindra Public School. One match is will take place today after the inaugural ceremony.
On April 4, three matches will be played at Sangrur and four matches will be played on April 5th, 6th, 7th each at Jalandhar, Amritsar and Gurdaspur respectively. On April 8 again teams will move to Amritsar for next four matches. April 9 will be off for the player to rest. The semi-final will take place at Bathinda on April 10. Finals will be played on 12th April followed by the closing ceremony.
The organizing committee, chaired by Secretary Sports P S Aujla, has reviewed all the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the WCKP2010.
Lets hope Indian Kabbadi team wins the World Cup for us.
