World Hemophilia Day 2014 observed
On the occasion of World Hemophilia Day observed every year on April 17, Society for Hemophilia (SHC India) an NGO working at National level organised an awareness program about Hemophilia and its treatment at Northern Railway Hospital, New Delhi

Society for Hemophilia Care(SHC India) is a national level NGO in the field of advocacy and to raise awareness the disease and other related bleeding disorders.It works in partnership with associations, individuals, government and corporate at central and state level to facilitate safe, affordable and ethical treatment to persons suffering with haemophilia.

On this occasion Dr. Yogesh Gupta along with Dr. Sabhyata gave a very informative power point presentation on Hemophila and its related disorder and how it can be treated. Vijay Kaul, Exe. Director, SHC India, welcomed all the doctors, patients, families and caregivers. He explained about the latest and safe available treatments and how to manage and prevent bleeds. He also encouraged the “Youth Group” to come forward and empower themselves by cooperation, support, education which will help community live a normal life like any normal person.

World Hemophilia Day is celebrated each year on April 17 since 1989, in memory of the World Federation of Hemophilia's founder, Frank Schnabel. World Hemophilia Day is observed globally as an opportunity to increase awareness of Hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.

Sagar Jha, a very talented young boy with haemophilia, along with his friends performed an excellent musical program which was enjoyed by all. “Youth Group “leader Vaibhav Nehra, a CA by profession working with a national bank, motivated all the young members present there by telling his own life story. Other members of Youth group also shared their inspiring stories.

Vijay Kaul explained the benefits of “travel kits” and how it should be used. The program ended with prize distribution and thank you note which was followed by lunch.
