Events that will be held to raise awareness of the house sparrow and other common birds being threatened by urban environment will consist of bird watching, free distribution of nest-boxes and feeder trays by the nature clubs and animal welfare activists.
The Jaipur-based organisation called 'Indian Birding Fair' and Nature Clubs will be holding a two-day event called "House sparrow Conservation: An international appeal" in which discussions on house sparrow conservation will be held.
Also, at the event site, awareness stall will be set up for one-on-one interactions and various types of nest-boxes and bird-feeders will be displayed.
On the first day of observance, March 19, an event is being organized at the Central Park of the city where a lot of people assemble on Sundays for picnic and group meets. A stall has been put up on the main gate of the park by the event organizers for sparrow conservation purposes.
