World Turtle Day: Learn to draw visual symbol of a turtle
The World Turtle Day was observed on May 23 by the communities living in the coastal areas, nature lovers and activists 'to bring attention to, and increase knowledge of and respect for, turtles and tortoises, and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive'.

World Turtle Day is being celebrated since the year 2000 in a variety of ways, from dressing up as turtles or wearing green summer dresses, to saving turtles caught on highways, to research activities.

In many schools, Turtle Day lesson plans and craft projects encourage teaching about turtles in classrooms to raise awareness about the protection of turtles and tortoises and their disappearing habitats around the world.

According to an entry in Wikipedia on the observance, in 2013, over 160 free Turtle Day lesson plans and teaching materials were sent out for use by several thousand schools across the world.

I think that it is the right way of cross-curricular linkage of the observance and catch children young regarding protection and conservation of turtles which are under threat.

Here is my way of celebrating the day by making a turtle through four-step successive drawing as shown. You may try to draw a turtle by following the steps. If you are a teacher you can draw the visual symbol of the turtle as part of illustration in a lesson plan.
