World's longest three-rope cable car system inaugurated in Vietnam
The world's longest three-rope cable car system was inaugurated in Vietnam's Lao Cai province yesterday. Its total length is 6,292.5 metres. This system is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's longest three-rope cable car route.
It has also set record for having world's biggest height gap between its departure and arrival stations of 1,410 metres.

Certificates for the two Guinness World Records were given to the system's developer during the inauguration ceremony yesterday. The Fansipan Sa Pa system will take tourists from the Muong Hoa Valley to the 3,143 meter peak of Fansipan Mountain.

Fansipan is one of the tourist destinations in Vietnam. It normally takes climbers two days to cross the challenging route to reach the top of Fansipan, but now one can reach to the hill top within 15 minutes.

A single cable car has the capacity to carry 30 to 35 passengers, and the whole system can transport up to 2,000 tourists per hour. The Fansipan Sa Pa system is expected to attract more tourists to Lao Cai, which is also known for the popular tourist town of Sa Pa.
