World's top marketing guru Dr. Philip Kotler to visit India in March
Considered the last word on marketing, renowned teacher and thinker of marketing Dr. Philip Kotler will be in India on March 6. He will conduct a seminar in Hyderabad on how companies can differentiate themselves from competitors at a time when there is intense competition in India's economy even as Indian companies try to take on the best in the world.
THE FULL-DAY certified training seminar by Dr. Kotler will be held at the Novotel & HICC Complex (Hyderabad International Convention Centre) with the focus on how marketing can address today's brand challenges while aligning with innovation, sustainability, and environmental responsibilities.
Dr. Kotler’s seminal books on marketing are a ‘must read’ for students of marketing as well as practitioners of marketing, and the 80-year-old, Chicago-born Dr. Kotler’s book 'Marketing Management', which is in its 14th edition, is still the most widely read graduate level textbook in the field of marketing, after first being published way back in 1967. In this book, he was the first to introduce the thought that companies must be customer and market driven.

In the first session topics of discussion will include how to deal with a company's major business challenges, marketing uncertainties, re-inventing marketing, involving customers in co-creation, and how to market to one's shareholders and not just customers. The second session will have discussions on how to develop innovation as a capability, and the new tools for consumer research. The third session will focus on branding with discussions on improving brand power, how to be wary of a brand bubble, role of social media in creating a brand, brand journalism, and measuring brand effectiveness. After the concluding session there will panel discussion and presentations on how sustainability-driven thinking can drive a brand, how to build environmental leadership, and image management through corporate social responsibility.
Dr. Kotler, viewed by many as the father of modern marketing, is the S.C. Johnson & Son Distinguished Professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. One of the best business thinkers of the world, he has studied under three Nobel Laureates in the science of economics, and did his post-doctoral work in mathematics from Harvard University and also in behavioural science at the University of Chicago. Altogether, Dr Kotler has written fifty books on diverse subjects such as performing arts, place marketing, alleviation of poverty, religious institutions, healthcare and hospitality.
