INTEL, A renowned name in the computer world has entered the smartphone market with Xolo X 900 after joining hands with Lava - this would be the first such phone in the world powered by Intel Atom processors. Priced at around 22,000 INR, how the phone performs in the Indian market, which is already over-flooded with smartphones, remains to be seen.

The phone will be launched in India on April 23 and the company boasts of showcasing rich capabilities and user benefits of Intel computing, according to Hindustan Times. There is no one denying the success of Intel computers but market doesn’t seem to be good for a newcomer to beat its rivals such as iPhone 3gS, Blackberry Curve, Samsung and Nokia Lumia who have established their branding in the Indian market.

The competition for the device would be very tight due to the presence of established brands. Though the features and its reputation in the computing world might be a helping hand but only the performance of the product would determine its success.

Xolo X900, according to the company press release has been designed to provide up to 5 hours of 3G browsing and 45 hours of audio. It also supports HDMI®, NFC and HD video playback. Powered by a super-fast 1.6 Ghz processor, the phone is equipped with a 4.03-inch high-resolution LCD touchscreen for crisp text and vibrant images.

“The smartphone delivers a fast application, web browsing and multitasking experience, and also features two cameras for advanced imaging and video capabilities, including burst mode that allows individuals to capture 10 pictures in under a second with 8-megapixel quality," claims the phone's official website.

The company would also be launching another Android based phone, priced at around 10000 INR in the coming months but that would follow the launch of Xolo X900 and certainly its success would determine the launch of more products, boasting of famous ‘Intel inside; sticker.
