Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa has agreed for a truce to end the political stalemate in Karnataka and even agreed to sacrifice some of his loyalists, sources said. But rebels are not ready to throw in the towel yet and want his removal.
BOWING TO intense pressure, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yedyurapaa has agreed to some demands of the state BJP rebels to stave off the challenge to the leadership. Sources revealed that the CM has agreed to replace his trusted principal secretary VP Baligar, who is likely to be shunted to a low profile department.
His removal was a key demand of the Reddy brothers, who are holding aloft the flag of rebellion and have given sleepless nights to the party leadership in Delhi as well. It is also likely that the post of state Home Minister will go to the dissidents.
However, it is learnt that despite the Karnataka CM coming down a few perches to resolve the political dispute, the dissidents lead by Reddy brother have refused to accept even this formula. They are adamant that the party High Command should replace the chief minister, in fact Janardhana Reddy has resignations of 52 party MLAs and he has refused to meet the CM till yet.BJP general secretary, Arun Jaitley is in Bangalore to resolve the conflict between the two sides as it has resulted in a a major setback for the party, which is already smarting from the losses in state elections held recently.
