Yerevan: Capital city of Armenia offers rich cultural and religious tourism experience
Over the years, tourism in Armenia has reasonably developed and the capital city of Yerevan is one of the major tourist destinations which currently draws tourists from Europe and Middle East," informs kin Ajay Mohan after touring Yerevan in May along with sending a few pictures.

With the promotion of tourism industry and facelift of the airport, Yerevan now has quite a few luxury hotels, restaurants, bars, pubs and nightclubs.

A growing number of tourists are visiting the country in groups or individually.  Ajay was a member of a group of tourists mainly from Dubai. The very location of Yerevan itself, provides an enchanting view of the Biblical Mount of Ararat.

Numerous historical sites, churches and citadels such as Garni Temple, Zvartnots Cathedral, the monasteries of Khor Virap and Geghard, etc., are within reach conveniently

For those, who are interested in sightseeing, being one of oldest cities in the area, there are many spots worth seeing places in Yerevan.The dancing fountains of the Republic Square, the State Opera House, the Cascade complex, the ruins of the Urartian city of Erebuni , the historical site of Karmir Blur , and many more attract a lot of touring groups.

To taste the local food, you can find crowded eateries, food joints and cafes near the Yerevan Opera House. Casino Shangri La and Pharaon Complex are among the largest leisure and entertainment centres of the city.

Modern Yerevan  city has been rated as one 10 safest cities in the world with a rich  nightlife scene with umpteen nightclubs,  street cafe?s, jazz cafe?s, tea houses, casinos, pubs, karaoke clubs and restaurants.

A lot of cultural activities take place in the city.  Various famous music stars, Russian dance and music celebrities, Armenian singers from diaspora keep enthralling the residents, tourists and visitors with their performances.

Another important attraction for the kids and families is Yerevan Zoo  and Yerevan Circus. The city has taken pains to preserve the circus.  Furthermore, Cafesjian Center for the Arts keeps on organizing art events on classical music, traditional folk dance and live concerts of jazz, pop and rock music which attract visitors.

Within reach are also the Blue Mosque; Chapel of the Holy Mother of God; Tsiranavor Church  are  oldest surviving religious. The remains of Surp Hovhannes Chapel dating back to the 12?13th centuries are also worth visiting.
